Happy Birthday Claire-bear
We celebrated our goddaughter's first birthday today. We are so proud to be a part of her life.
Week of the Young Child
We had a very busy week! It was the week of the young child so our community had events planned all week long for the little kids to participate in. Unfortunately, my camera wasn't working the beginning of the week.
Monday: Purple Day
-Lori (daycare provider) gave the kids t-shirts with purple writing that said "Week of the Young Child" on them. Charlie was super excited that they all had matching shirts.
Tuesday: PJ day
-The boys wore their pajamas to daycare. They both thought this was neat. That evening there were stories being read all over town. We started at Comstock (a construction company), then the airport playground, train station, and the gymnastics place. At each place they got to hear a story and then at the 5:45 reading, each child received a book.
Wednesday: Beach Day
-The boys dressed up for beach day. My camera was finally working and I got some pictures.
-Then that evening was activities to get them moving. They had parachute activities:
-Yoga
-We had brought a friend with us and after the yoga station, all of the boys were getting restless. We decided to leave, but they really wanted to play on the playground. I figured they were still moving.
Thursday: Hat Day
-Charlie loved this. As soon as I took a picture of Hudson, the hat came off and it never went back on.
-They had an art show at one of the schools that evening. The boys had made art projects at daycare and they were on display. Charlie was very proud.
-They had different art stations set-up and a puppet show going on this evening.
It was a wonderful week. They boys had a blast, but it wore their mother out. I am glad this isn't every week.

Happy Easter
Happy Easter! What a wonderful day we had. It started out with the Easter bunny filling the boys' baskets.
Charlie's basket
Hudson's basket
Charlie finding his basket in the morning.
Hudson checking out his basket.
Hudson got a new blue ball and later that morning he said his first word "ball".
The puppy felt a little left out this morning.
After we got dressed, I wanted to get a picture of the boys in their outfits. These are the following attempts:
I am not sure which one is my favorite. The ones where Charlie is choking Hudson, where you see his back or the blurry ones.
Papa and Nana came right before church. The Easter bunny had been to their house also. They brought Hudson a dancing bunny.
After a wonderful church service and a delicious lunch, we had another Easter egg hunt. Corey hid eggs all over the yard. Hudson was sleeping so Charlie got to do it by himself again.
Out the door with our bucket
Charlie was sprinting around the yard trying to find them.
Nana helping him look under the tree.
Charlie with all of his treasures.
After Hudson woke up from his nap, Charlie and Papa hid some Easter eggs for him to find.
He found the first egg.
After the first egg, he was content sitting their shaking his one egg.
Scavenger Hunt
Saturday afternoon we had Easter with my family at Josh and Kelsey's new house. They did a wonderful job of hosting their first holiday.
My mom had planned a scavenger hunt for Charlie. He loves searching for Easter eggs and was really looking forward to this.
Grandpa Dan reading the first clue.
Finding some eggs on the steps.
Some were hidden in the closet.
The ones in the bathroom had candy in them.
Grandma and Grandpa reading another clue.
Opening more eggs.
The final clue led them into the bedroom were there was some presents for Charlie and Hudson. At first, Charlie kept asking where the eggs were. He was having fun finding the eggs, he didn't want to be done. He did enjoy the new travel pillows the Easter bunny dropped off at Grandma Cindy's house.
Grandma Cindy is reading the football book that came with Charlie's football pillow.
Hudson sat in the highchair for over an hour eating and smiling.
He also spent some time snuggling with Great Grandma.
Easter Projects
We started out Saturday morning with some Easter projects. First was to make robin's egg nests. This is a tradition for Corey's family. They always have them at Easter. I had made the rice krispy nests the night before and molded them. In the morning, Charlie filled them with coconut dyed green and jellybeans or m & m's.
Don't you just love the pajamas and the tatoos?
We practiced our counting to get 5 eggs in every nest.
The finished products. Charlie and I don't like coconut so we made some without.
After we finished the treats, we had to dye Easter eggs. Corey and Charlie did this project together. I had put the tablets in the containers and mixed a few up. I don't know why they are so hard to tell.

First Haircut
We finally broke down and gave Hudson his first haircut. He badly needed it, but I knew he wouldn't look like a baby after the cut. He did really well. No crying at all. He just gave the hairstylist a few looks like he wasn't quite sure what she was doing.
The Big Boy:
In one month, Hudson will be one year old. It has flown by. He is growing up so fast. We can already see the determined boy he will be.
