Godparents

Corey and I are lucky to be Claire's godparents and we helped baptize her on Sunday. It was a great ceremony with a wonderful lunch at Kasey and Lisa's afterwards.

Lounging Around

After the movie on Friday, Charlie was all wired from all the sugar so we sent him home with Papa and Nana. So on Saturday, we just lounged around home with Hudson. We spent some time just laying in the grass outside.

With Charlie gone, Corey and I got to enjoy an adult meal for a change. Corey made steak with an onion and blue cheese sauce. It was delicious. Then we walked to Dairy Queen to top it off.

Charlie's First Movie

Papa and Nana took Charlie to his first movie Friday. He was so excited to see Cars 2. He loves the first movie and has watched it a million times. He was even lucky enough to get popcorn, twizzlers, and blue gatorade. 

Sleeping Dog

Hudson likes to wake up between 5:00 and 6:00. He has a really hard time going back to sleep. I think he sees the sunlight and thinks it is time to be up. So every morning we put him in the swing and he sleeps for a few more hours.

This morning he woke up at 5:30. After feeding him 2 oz., I put him in the swing. It was 5:45 and I didn't feel like going back to bed. I got up and got a lot accomplished.

Later in the morning, I went to get dressed and what do I find in my spot on the bed:

He did not seem to enjoy me taking his picture while he was trying to sleep.

Circus

We got free tickets to the circus, so I decided to take the two boys by myself. They were very well behaved. I was afraid Hudson may be deaf afterwards, but he seems to be alright. After the circus, I was loading Charlie into the car. I asked him what his favorite part was. I thought it might be the elephants or the white tigers, or the jumping dogs, or the BMX rider. No it wasn't any of those. His favorite things was the girls. He is all boy.

Cleaning

My shower is really clean. Charlie has been scrubbing the walls every bath time.

Father's Day Weekend

Friday:
We had Family Movie Night again. This time we watched "Tangled". This was a very cute movie. Charlie has been talking about knights, princesses,dragons, etc a lot lately so this was the perfect movie. During the movie, Corey went to change Hudson's diaper when he pooped, peed, and spit-up all at the same time. Corey wasn't quite sure what to do with the mess.

Saturday:
We went to Lake 11 on Saturday. We spent the morning and afternoon playing outside. Charlie was having a great time playing in the sand and the water.

 Charlie is getting really brave. He would go all the way until the water was up to his chin.

 Papa would have the sailboat and Charlie would come racing with his speedboat to knock the sailboat over. He did this over and over. He was even talking to himself as he was doing it.

 Hudson was happy curled up with Nana in the shade.

Aaron loves the lakes. He runs free the whole time. He is not a big fan of the water. He will go in to get a drink, but he does not like to swim.

After supper Corey and Charlie took Papa golfing for Father's Day. I forgot to send the camera with Corey, but Charlie had a great time. Corey says he was so well behaved. He would tee off and then grab his ball. He would ride in the cart to Sharky or Corey's ball and then hit from there. We spent the night here. When we got up in the morning, Taz had decided to sleep in Charlie's room. He isn't able to jump up on the bed so he had climbed into the basket of blankets next to the bed.

Sunday:

We went out for brunch on Sunday morning with Papa and Nana. After that we headed to Ottertail. When we got there, we went for a pontoon ride. After that we had a great supper with the whole family. It was great to be with all of our father's on Father's Day.

Baby Shower

My family and friends threw Hudson a baby shower today. Our friends Kasey and Lisa came down early with their kids Brooks and Claire. Brooks and Charlie started playing right away. Charlie found it necessary to dress-up as Super Why while Hudson and Claire lounged together:

My sister-in-law Kelsey and aunt Peg sure know how to throw a party. It was a children's book themed party. Perfect for a teacher. Kelsey had even made bookmarks as favors for everyone. They had a great game where you had to figure out the title of the children's book. Then they had planned a delicious meal. After that I opened the wonderful gifts for Hudson. He was spoiled again. He received so many great books. His book shelf is full now!

Weekend

Friday:
We had a Family Movie Night again. This time we watched Yogi Bear. Charlie loved it, I thought it was ok. Not my favorite movie of all time.

Saturday:
We went to Carli's 3rd birthday party. Carli was dressed up as Tinkerbell and looked adorable.There was a ton of kids there. Emily and Carl had rented a bouncy house for her birthday. Charlie wasn't so sure about it at first. Then Brooks showed up and they had a blast playing in it together. Later, Carli's older cousin was playing in the bouncy house. Charlie, Brooks, and Carli would run up to the bouncy house, and her cousin would chase them away. They did this over and over for an hour.

Hudson and Claire slept and ate the whole time.

 After the party, we went to Ottertail. Charlie was in heaven with all of the kids that were giving him attention. They played fooseball in the garage, pretended to fish off the dock, and ran around.

We had our first evening with Hudson away from home. It was an interesting sleeping arrangement with Charlie in one bed, Corey and I in another, Hudson in the pack-n-play, and Aaron choosing different beds to sleep in all night.

Sunday:
It was a cloudy, rainy, cold day. We hung out in the cabin all day long. Charlie and Corey did sneak off to Granny's Pantry to get some candy in the afternoon. Hudson found out if he swings his arms, he can hit his toys and they make noise. Look at the big smile he would get!

On our way home, we stopped at Dairy Queen for supper. When we got home, both boys need a bath. Hudson wore his duck robe after his bath. He wasn't so sure about it.

Sweet Treats

Corey thought that the past two nights we deserved some sweet treats after supper. Wednesday night, Charlie and Corey went to Dairy Queen and picked up a star kiss.

Last night Corey decided to make root beer floats and orange dreamsicle floats. Charlie had a dreamsicle float while Corey and I had root beer floats.

Tummy Time

I brought out Hudson's tummy time mat for the first time today.

We also went to the "Local Library" (as Charlie calls it). Charlie found 2 books about dinosaurs and an I Spy book. I thought the I Spy book would be too hard for him, but he found everything in the book as soon as we got home. We will have to pick up more of those this summer.

Pool!

We were so excited to go to the pool for the first time last night. It was a beautiful day. Charlie is so much braver this year than last year. He was running through the water. He even went down the frog slide this year.

Single Mom

Corey had to leave to go overseas for 5 days. I was a little nervous about being a single mom for 5 days. It actually went better than I thought in big part to my parents and in-laws.

Corey left on Wednesday. We dropped him off at the airport at 4:30. Charlie seemed to be doing fine. He even told Corey to leave so he could go down the escalator again. We get out to the car and I have Charlie buckled in his car seat and he starts crying, "I miss Daddy". I have to remind him that Daddy will be back in 5 days. We left the airport and went and had supper with Kelsey. After that we went and visited Grandma O. By the time we got home from Fargo, it was after 9:00.

Thursday, I dropped Charlie off at daycare. Hudson slept a lot that day so I got quite a few things crossed off my to-do list. My mom came over that afternoon to stay with the boys while I went out for drinks with the teachers after the last day of school. My mom had an interesting time with they boys. She didn't know how to get Hudson's car seat in the stroller when she was going to pick up Charlie from daycare. She ended up putting the car seat in backwards. Lori helped her when she got to daycare. When they got home, Charlie peed on the bathroom floor. As they were getting ready to go to Kevin and Kathy's for supper, the dog got loose.

Mom spent the night and stayed with Hudson on Friday while I went to school for a Staff Development day. I had only planned on working in the morning but the technology meeting was moved to the afternoon so I had to run home and bring Hudson with me to the meeting. That evening we went to my parent's house. Charlie had a great time running around on the farm and my mom made us supper.

Who knew a fly swatter could be so entertaining? He popped bubbles with it. He had it in the cozy coupe car with us. It kept Charlie busy all night.

Saturday morning, I was able to get myself, Charlie and Hudson dressed, packed and out the door in 2 hours and 20 minutes. I was quite impressed with myself. We met Papa and Nana at Breakfast on the Farm in Rollag. We had breakfast then walked around looking at all the tractors and animals. We ended by getting ice cream.

After breakfast, we went to Lake 11. Charlie stayed over night with Papa and Nana while Hudson and I went home. Charlie had a great time fishing and playing in the water.

Hudson started Saturday night not sleeping good. When he finishes eating during the night, he lets you lay him down. 10 minutes later he wakes up crying. On Sunday he was awake all morning. Finally, he slept in the afternoon. We met Charlie, Papa, and Nana in Barnesville for supper on Sunday night.

Monday was Charlie's first day home from daycare. I was a little nervous on how he would be with Hudson taking up my time. Fortunately, Hudson slept good so Charlie and I were able to go outside and play. In the afternoon, we went to Fargo to pick up Daddy. Charlie was so excited to be getting Daddy from the airport. 

Overall the 5 days went by fast. We missed Corey, but we were able to make it through. Hopefully he doesn't have to leave again for awhile.
