Doggy Haircut

As you can tell, Aaron desperately needed a haircut. Look at his face. It says "I am hot!" So today we took him to a new place. This is the before.

The after:

I like how she left his ears long on the bottom. He actually looks like a cocker spaniel now. He was so happy when we got home. Running around like a little puppy.

Supper with Kevin and Kathy

We had supper at my uncle Kevin and aunt Kathy's house last night. They got a new dog a few weeks ago and Charlie loves to visit "Tooper" aka Cooper.  Kevin and Kathy have so many toys that Charlie could be entertained for hours at their house. He also loves to help Kevin feed the birds. We were having so much fun that it was 10 before we left.

Falling

Charlie would not take a nap yesterday. He was in his crib for an hour and a half, but would not go to sleep. Finally I decided we would just go to the pool without a nap. We went swimming at the pool for an hour and then he wanted a snack. We came back home and after a snack I told him he needed to lay on the couch and watch TV. He did not need to sleep, but I knew he would. After 10 minutes he was out. He had been sleeping for 30 minutes when he started moving to get more comfortable. All of a sudden, he rolled completely off the couch smack on the floor. He cried for a while, but then fell right back asleep.

Here he is sleeping after the fall.

Daddy joined him on the couch later. Charlie woke up,but Daddy kept sleeping.
You have to love these 2 boys.

Sandbox

Charlie loved playing in his sandbox yesterday morning. He would bury one of his cars in the sand and then I would have to find it. Then I would bury it and he would have to find it. The only bad part was all the sand that got dragged into the house. It was worth it to watch him having so much fun.

Scrapbooking

Here is the scrapbooking page I did yesterday of Charlie's 1st birthday. I hope to have his first year book done this week.

BBQ with Brooks

Our friends Kasey and Lisa had us over for supper the other night. They both have the week off from work. Their son Brooks is 5 months older then Charlie. They had so much fun playing together especially with the pool. They were in the pool then out. Kasey and Lisa always make the best food when we are over. Great times, great food, great friends!

What studs! With Charlie's blond hair they could almost be brothers.

They even ate cookies in the pool!

Isn't Brooks adorable!

I just love that smile!

Thank you Kasey and Lisa for the great evening! We will have to do it again soon.

Cleaning the Garage

As you can tell, we need to clean our garage. We couldn't even park our vehicles in there. The garage had become Corey's workshop during our bathroom remodel. It had never been cleaned up since. Last week during the storm we were up at 5 in the morning moving things around to try and squeeze the cars in so they wouldn't get hailed on. We agreed to clean it up.

The before pictures.

This is where a car is suppose to park.

So while we cleaned, Charlie kept himself very busy.

Putting air in his tires. (Our car had a low tire and he watched Corey fill it)

Washing our tractors.

Playing with bubbles. Charlie has the funniest run right now.
His right leg lifts really high as you can see with this picture.
Got to love this boy!

The after picture. It is clean. Not completely organized yet, but a good start.

Red River Valley Fair

We went to the Red River Valley Fair on Saturday. It was a warm day, but luckily there was a nice breeze. We walked through the animal buildings. We even went through a straw maze. Then we went to the petting zoo. Charlie really liked the animals in there. There was a circus this year. It was completely free. It was about a half hour show. They did a really good job especially since it was outside and they had to deal with North Dakota wind. Charlie and I then rode on the train. It went all over the fairgrounds. After that we went to see the dinosaurs. Charlie got scared, but he braved it out. He did not want to take his eyes off the dinosaurs. Even when I tried to take his picture. We got some lemonade and a strawberry smoothie and decided that was enough for today.

This was as close to the pony rides Charlie would get.

Swimming at the Pool

After a hot day at the fair, we decided to enjoy a night at the pool. There were not many people there which was nice. I think there was more life guards on duty then kids. Charlie was able to run around and play wherever he wanted in the kid pool.

Enjoying the pool!

Charlie will climb to the top of the frog, but never actually go down it. We have a new fear of slides.

Chilling in the water.

Jumping in the water.
Being chased by Meagan, a friend from daycare.

Charlie playing with Jackson, Meagan's brother.

Wilkin County Fair

Charlie and I went to the Wilkin County fair today. We started by watching our cousin Cade in the spelling bee. He took 2nd place. Great Job Cade! Then I wanted to watch some of my third graders. Corey then met us for lunch. After that Charlie and I walked through all of the animals. He loved the baby donkey. Then Charlie wanted to play on the playground for awhile. I tried to get him to go on some rides, but he just wanted to watch.

Playing with the digger on the playground.
Petting the sheep.
Waiting for Daddy to come.
