Relaxing Weekend

Charlie got sick on Thursday. He started coughing and when he woke up from his nap at daycare he was running a low-grade fever. That night he went down for bed at 7:45. At 9:00, we heard him on the monitor. Corey went down to check on him and he had puked on himself. He kept repeating, "I gooey". We gave him a bath and he was back in bed. At 11:00 he woke up and decided he wanted to be up for the night. He was awake until 4:00am.  Corey stayed home with him on Friday.

After the long couple of days, we decided to keep it a low-key weekend. Charlie enjoyed playing with the play-dough.

 He watched some TV.

We had a race track set-up downstairs. Charlie and Daddy lined up.

Tomorrow is President's Day. I don't have any school. Charlie is still going to daycare. I am looking forward to a day off.

New Watch

Charlie has been wanting a watch of his own. He loves playing with Mommy and Daddy's watches. So we told him if he could earn 20 stickers for going potty, he could pick out a watch. Yesterday he filled his chart up.

So last night we went to Walmart. Charlie choose a Lightening McQueen watch. He didn't get to wear it for very long last night, but he found a spot to keep it every night in his nightstand. Right away this morning, he had to put it on. He keeps walking around and saying "Kachow" like Lightening McQueen.

Potty Update

Since Tuesday, Charlie has gone on the potty everyday. Tuesday and Wednesday he only went at daycare. Finally on Thursday we got him to go at home. Saturday was a great day! He went on the potty 8 times. On Sunday, I was in the shower when Corey brought Charlie in to use the potty. The sound of the water made him pee in his diaper before he could get on the potty. Daddy put him on the potty anyway. All of a sudden, he pooped. We couldn't believe it. Hopefully this keeps up!

Potty

Charlie went potty for the first time today. It happened at daycare. Lori (his daycare provider) noticed he hadn't gone pee all day. She got him to sit on the potty. He finally went when she dumped some water in the toilet. YEAH!

I have tried to get him to go at home, but no luck.

Conversations with Charlie

Charlie went with Daddy to Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Dan's yesterday while Mommy was scrapbooking. Daddy was helping Grandpa Dan make sausage. Charlie ended up staying over night at their house. In the afternoon Charlie took a nap with Grandma Cindy. After their nap, Grandpa Dan asked if Grandma Cindy snored. Here is their conversation:

Charlie: "You nore!"
Grandma Cindy: "I'm sorry."
Charlie: "It happens"

Shoveling

Charlie went outside with Daddy tonight to help clear off the driveway. He loved shoveling a path, picking up the snow and throwing it, and eating snow.

Unfortunately, his shoveling wasn't enough and Daddy still had to use the snowblower.

Charlie's Obsession

We have an obsession. Charlie was never attached to any blankets, stuffed animals, toys, etc. He finally has an attachment, his Adrian Peterson jersey. We wear it everyday. I have at least got him to go to daycare in different clothes, but as soon as we get home we need to change. This morning as soon as we got up, we had to put it on over our pajamas. He wanted to wear it to church, but we promised he could wear it when he got home. If he has had a rough day or is not feeling well, he also likes to wear or carry it to bed with him.
