Charlie's Day

Hudson has been really needy lately. He has been cutting 4 different teeth. So a lot our time has been spent on him. So on Saturday, we dropped Hudson off with Grandma and Grandpa and Charlie got us all to himself.

It was so much fun to just spend time with him. Talking with him. Watching him. He has grown up so much lately. 

We had a very busy day. We started at the Sportsman's Show at the FargoDome. Charlie loved looking at the pontoons. He found a couple for Grandpa Dan to purchase. We checked out the different campers, but Charlie was really looking forward to fishing. He didn't catch anything, but he still had fun trying.

After that, Charlie chose supper at Space Aliens. He loves playing the games, but the whole time he kept on eye on their back hallway making sure that the alien wasn't coming out.

After supper, we headed to the Fargo Force hockey game. Charlie was really excited to see his first hockey game. It was all he could talk about for days beforehand. 

I really enjoyed our day with him. It was special to be able to give all of our attention to Charlie for a night. 

Cleaning Buddy

Hudson loves to be held. It always wants to see what you are doing. The past few weeks Corey has just strapped him on while he has been cleaning.

Time Together

I love being able to spend time at home with our whole family. I know that this time is going to fly by. We had a snow day and school was cancelled. I decided to spend the day enjoying it with my boys. Down the road, they are going to want to get together with their friends on these day. So right now I am treasuring these days spent at home playing together. 


The boys are starting to play together more. Hudson likes to be wherever Charlie is at. Charlie for the most part enjoys having him around as long as he doesn't mess up his toys. 

Corey and Charlie went outside to take care of all of the snow. Hudson was eating a snack at the time. I looked outside and this is what I found:

A little later I look out and Charlie is trying to snow blow the steps with his toy lawn mower. Unfortunately, the tires kept getting covered in snow.

Pool Time

For our friend's Brooks birthday, we promised to taking him swimming at Thumper Pond. We finally found a weekend that worked. Charlie and Brooks were instantly in the water. They swam for the whole time. They got out only to scarf down a hot dog and chips and then they were right back in the water.They were in the water from 10:30-3:00. 

Charlie loved the water. Hudson on the other hand did not care for it. I think it was too loud, but he did try it out a little.

After swimming, we ate at the restaurant and then headed home. Both boys crashed as soon as we got into the car.

Weekend at Home

I love being busy. We are so fortunate to have lots of family and friends around that most of our weekends are packed full. This was the first weekend in a long time all four of us were home the whole weekend. It was wonderful. I love being able to spend some quality time with both of our boys. 

 Charlie is really into building. Legos have been very popular at our house. Friday night as soon as we got home he wanted to build. Later that evening we had our usual Friday night movie. Charlie picked out a Diego movie from the library that he wanted to watch.

 Hudson is very active which means he has to eat a lot! It seems like he spends most of his day in the high chair eating.

 Saturday morning we were back to building. Hudson loved pushing all of the blocks around while Charlie was building castles for his lego man.

 Daddy and Charlie made a TV out of a old box. They put news shows on for mommy.

 Sunday morning Charlie is helping Daddy make rolls. Yes, he is still in the same pajamas since yesterday. That is the benefit of never leaving the house.

Beautiful Weather

When we got home today, we had to take the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful weather. Living in MN, we usually don't have such nice weather for February 1st. Charlie saw his lawn mower and thought that the grass (the sidewalk) needed a trim. He also had fun pushing it through the snow.

As he was mowing, he got distracted by the big snow chunks. It is the perfect snow, a little melted, to make huge snowballs. Our neighbor Jerry showed Charlie how they break when he throws them.

It is also fun to throw it high in the air and it comes crashing down.

Hudson loved being outside. He is not the easiest to get into a snowsuit so he hasn't been outside a lot lately. It was warm enough this afternoon that he didn't need a snowsuit on. He loved being in his swing. The whole time I was pushing him, he kept giggling.
